Xiaomi launched Redmi Note 5 Pro smartphone back in February this year, also released the new Red color varient of the smartphone just last month. It’s been only 8 months since the launch of the Redmi Note 5 Pro but the company has already released the successor for the smartphone in Thailand. Even though Redmi Note 6 Pro is the successor to the company’s popular Redmi Note 5 Pro not lot has been changed when you compare it to it’s predecessor. Redmi Note 6 Pro: What’s Differences
Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro might not been huge upgrade when you compare it to it’s predecessor, but it offers some interesting features which you might not find on other Redmi devices.
Notch Display
There are lots of manufactures are opting to the notch design ever since the launch of iPhone X, Xiaomi is not as exception. If you look at the Redmi Note 6 Pro, the first thing you will notice is the inclusion of the notch on the display. It’s notch is very similar to iPhone X and also display size is increased to 6.26-inch as compared to the 5.99-inch on Redmi Note 5 Pro but resolution remains as Full HD. The phone still remains on the same footprint even though it has the bump in the display size.
Quad Cameras
Another difference in the new Redmi Note 6 Pro is it’s cameras. The camera resolution on the rear remains the same, but Xiaomi made a huge improvement in the optics. Redmi Note 6 Pro has a 12-megapixel primary camera with 1.4μm pixel size, f/1.9 aperture compared to the smaller 1.25μm pixel size, f/2.2 aperture on the Redmi Note 5 Pro. Thanks to AI algorithms, now it can recognize up to 206 scenes across 27 categories. The secondary remains the same 5-megapixel for capture the depth information.
Redmi Note 6 Pro becomes the first Xiaomi phone to pack an dual camera setup on the front. The primary unit is a 20-megapixel camera with large 1.8μm pixel size, f/2.0 aperture. Thanks to it’s 2-megapixel secondary front camera, Redmi Note 6 Pro can take even better looking selfies when you compare it with single selfie camera on Redmi Note 5 Pro.
Similarities
Apart from the Display and Cameras almost everything else remains the same on both of these devices.
These two phones has an uni-body metal design while top and bottom parts are made of plastic for better antenna signal transmission. The design is slightly changed but it looks similar on most parts. Just like it’s predecessor, Redmi Note 6 Pro has been powered by the Qualcomm’s mid-range Snapdragon 636 SoC, coupled with 3GB/4GB of RAM and 32/64GB of storage.
Like Redmi Note 5 Pro, it’s successor also packs 4000mAh battery, runs on Miui 9.6 based on Android 8.1 Oreo and the fingerprint scanner is present on the rear. Coming to connectivity, everything else remains same from Redmi Note 5 Pro.
